At Apex Dance Industry we offer a wide variety of recreational and competitive level dance and circus for all ages with a specific focus on ages 2 to 18. ADI is committed to providing a positive environment where students can learn to perform and in doing so; ADI will focus on the following features:

 

-State of the art facility- high-grade mats and equipment, 4 full size air tracks, 1 full size tumble track, full wall mirrors, wall mounted ballet barres, high ceilings, Locker room to store your belongings and a lobby for the students and parents. 35 ft ceilings! In house theatre that seats 150. 

 

-ADI is the only studio in Lambton County that offers aerial dance and circus arts.

Always age appropriate music, costuming, & themes. 

 

-Small class sizes- this allows students to have the most attention and highest extent of learning.

 

-Affiliation with Acrobatic Arts dance program- providing instruction and examination.

​

- The first Module 2 certified Acrobatic Arts studio in all of Lambton County as of August 2016. This ensures safety all they way up to a professional level. We have 4 coaches certified in AA. 

​

-We have 7 Certified Aerial Coaches through Aerial Arts by Cirque Du Soilel's, Meaghan Wegg. Born to Fly, and Spectacle Blue. 

 

-Personal coaching sessions for students looking to further their dance education with one on one interaction.

-We are the only Youth Protection Advocates in Dance Certified Studio in all of Lambton County. This means our studio focuses on a proper and appropriate dance education. This also means that not only do we always promise to offer appropriate education but safe education. All staff members are required to have a Vulnerable Sector Check done prior to employment. It also requires us to be up to date on our First Aid & CPR Certification. We promise to protect our students and steer them in a positive direction with safety as our number 1 concern; physical and mental.

Allyx Smith

     Allyx Kayleigh Smith began dancing at 4 years old in Sarnia, Ontario. Studying different dance styles at multiple studios in Sarnia, London, and Port Huron, Michigan. At age 15 Allyx went on tour with Blue Lake Fine Arts, performing various dance styles in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and the United States. Following high school Allyx accepted a scholarship to Alma College in Michigan. After 2 years Allyx transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder to search for a broader dance education. Allyx graduated with a BA in dance. She has performed in many well known choreographers pieces such as Michelle Ellsworth’s FRESH piece, “Antifragile “. While at the University of Colorado Boulder Allyx has had the opportunity to work with lighting, set and costume design for various pieces and shows. While attending, Allyx also received the chance to intern with Turning the Wheel Dance and Theater Company facilitating pre-school - university aged students, as well as maximum security prison inmates. While at university Allyx found her passion for Aerial Dancing specifically silks and plans to continue to pursue this dance form and share it with Sarnia! Acrobatic Arts Module 2 certified means Allyx can teach acrobatics from primary to pre-professional dancers. She also holds a special certificate through acrobatic arts for teaching Primary Acrobatics. Allyx is also certified to teach aerial dance through Born to Fly, Aerial Arts by Cirque Du Soleil's Meaghan Wegg and Spectacle Blue. 

She is also the only certified instructor through Youth Protection Advocates in Dance in all of Lambton County. 

Allyx carries multiple other certificates such as First Aid & CPR, Preventing Covid 19, Protecting Children Through a Crisis, Barbicide Sanitation Certification, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, and Talking with Children about Safety from Sexual Abuse. Allyx is continuing her dance education every single day. Allyx has recently become certified in aerial yoga through The Flying Yogi. Allyx has even taken her aerial education to Thailand where she learned from one of the best Aerial Coaches in the world Jill Franklin. While under Jills direction Allyx was offered the opportunity of hanging from a hot air balloon on aerial silks as well as with live elephants. Allyx is scheduled to return to Thailand in 2026 for more training with Jill.
